Kites and Monsters, by anthropologist Robert Lemelson, about the journey of a young boy, Wayan Yoga, into adulthood through flying kites and monsters of the Balinese mythology. Affected by Tourette’s Syndrome, attempted healing by healers, then eventually attempted treatment by doctors and healers alike, the boy grew up through fits and blinking into a young man aiming for a career as a chef and a Balinese dancer. His weird movements or excessive blinking doesn’t come in between his love for the art, and as he grows, he believes that it is enough for him to be accepted in his community and doesn’t care about the response of others.
